It's prime time for slime time at Tilles Center. On Oct. 20, Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville will get into the Halloween spirit with "Ghostbusters in Concert" at the Goldsmith Atrium on the Long Island University campus.

While the highlight will be a screening of the 1984 comic spookfest starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd with the score performed onstage by a live 16-piece orchestra, attendees should come early for some pre-show festivities. Preceding the film will be live performances of '80s hits, a costume contest judged by the Tilles Cabaret Company with prizes for the best getups, photo ops, snacks and more. Guests can also check out an on-site replica of the Ghostbusters Ectomobile, provided by Roger Browner, vice president of the Hicksville-based AutoMat Custom & Restoration.

Fans of the movie can also meet the Long Island Ghostbusters, a cosplay charity group appearing on behalf of the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and Bellmore resident Joe Cirillo, a former New York City police officer turned actor who — in a bit of inspired casting — played a police caption who gets slimed in "Ghostbusters."

The pre-show activities begin at 4:30 p.m. and those planning to enter the costume contest need to sign up by 5:30 p.m. The screening/concert follows at 6:30 p.m. For tickets and additional information, go to tillescenter.org.
