When popera star Josh Groban hits a high note that goes soaring over a crowd, he feels free.

"It’s a lot of blood rushing to your head. Your body kind of feels like a balloon that’s inflated," Groban, 44, says. "The best part is the feeling of energy flowing up from the ground and out through your head. But there’s a lot of work you are doing that the audience isn’t seeing in order to make sure the song comes out to your standard."

THE BACON BROTHERS

Kevin Bacon has been a Hollywood actor for 47 years, starring in more than 100 films. Even more impressive, his side job is a successful folk-rock duo with his brother Michael for the past 31 years. The duo is set to play The Paramount on Sept. 14 on their "Freestanding Tour."

"Since Kevin was three years-old banging on a can, we’ve been making music together," Michael, 75, says. "Eventually, we decided to do one gig as the Bacon Brothers and that started a ripple that has carried us through more than three decades."

However, there are differences between the brothers’ styles.

"I’m much more of a show off and Michael is an introspective performer," Kevin, 67, says. "In terms of our writing styles, I tend to write with rhythm in mind. Michael is more focused on the melody."
