Surf’s up in Port Jefferson — Bay Shore’s Ditch has expanded east, opening a new location of the beach-themed eatery in the waterside village.
Co-owners Tracy Smith and Alex Anderson opened the first Ditch in Bay Shore in 2023, its concept inspired by Ditch Plains Beach in Montauk, where Smith spent his summers growing up.
"It was a core memory for me," Smith said.

The new space, formerly Spy Coast, has seating for 35 guests, including the bar. Coastal ambience comes into the decor through white oak shelving, reclaimed wood picture frames and a surfing-themed collage wall.
"Port Jeff being coastal made all the sense in the world," Smith said of the decision to expand to a second location.
Like in Bay Shore, the menu includes popular fried yucca poppers ($18.90) with guacamole; tacos from Baja-style fish ($4.79), al pastor ($4.58) and a Korean chicken sandwich ($20.03) with spicy kimchi.
Quench your thirst with zero-proof cocktails like the No-Jito ($6) made with fresh lime juice, apple juice, sugar syrup, mint and soda water. Cocktails, wine and beer abound.
Smith said he plans to add an expanded brunch menu starting mid-September.
