Lecture: Puerto Rico, the Island of Enchantment with the Zuckermans

Jan9

Puerto Rico has been nicknamed the Island of Enchantment. Join us for this presentation, and you will understand why. First, we will delve into the history of this U.S. Commonwealth. Then we will examine the rich culture of the Island, including customs, foods, and drinks. Finally, we will explore the myriad of attractions and activities, the vast geographic diversity, and natural features that make Puerto Rico a unique and special place. Some of these include: the only rainforest in the U.S., a manatee sanctuary, the second-largest cave system in the world, areas where wild horses run free, a monkey research center, and many more. You will come away from this presentation with a new understanding and appreciation of Puerto Rico, the Island of Enchantment.

Ecotherapy – Celebrate New Beginnings

Jan11

Ecotherapy, also known as Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku, is the practice of connecting with Nature; of walking with Nature rather than through it. Certified guide Linda Lombardo leads monthly sessions of this relational practice that lowers cortisol, improves cognitive function, boosts your mood and energy, and most of all, grounds you so you are better prepared in your daily life to manage whatever might come your way. The focus of Ecotherapy is on connection and relationship, allowing the heart to open to the beauty of the natural world, and at the same time, understand our belonging in that world.
