Summer may be over, but our quality of life here in North Hempstead Town is being compromised every year. There is an ordinance from June 15 to Sept. 15 that bans gas leaf blowers to reduce noise and air pollution.

Yet on six days every week of summer, there are landscapers who apparently couldn’t care less. When I ask them to stop, they laugh. What else can we do besides phoning the 311 call center multiple times? Where is the enforcement? What’s the point of having it on the books if there is no enforcement?
