Long Island continues to be one of the toughest markets for homebuyers in the country.
A Redfin analysis ranked Long Island the second-strongest market in July, second only to the Newark metropolitan area. Also in July, two Long Island communities — Bridgehampton and Water Mill — were among the top 10 most expensive in the country, according to Realtor.com
Median home prices rose to $860,000 in Nassau County and $702,000 in Suffolk, according to OneKey MLS. A year ago, prices in Nassau and Suffolk were $805,000 and $659,000, respectively, Newsday reported.
