The price of a single-family home on Long Island consistently breaks records. And prices for condominiums, generally thought to be good entry points to homeownership, are catching up.

Condo prices in Nassau and Suffolk counties are increasing faster than in the single-family home market, Newsday has reported. In July, the median condo price in Nassau was $870,000, higher than the $860,000 median price for single-family homes, according to OneKey MLS.

In Suffolk, median price for a condo was $537,000 in July, the multiple listing service reported.
