The Yankees announced Friday that Max Fried is being placed on the 15-day injured list after an MRI and CT scan revealed a left elbow bone bruise.

Fried will get more imaging in a few weeks to determine when he can resume throwing. The Yankees said a more specific return and rehab schedule will be determined then.

Fried lasted just three innings in Wednesday's 7-0 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore.

“I guess you never know,” Fried said of his concern level after the game. “But I’m definitely planning on this thing being a sooner rather than later [situation]. Don’t want to put any timelines or anything like that."

Fried added that the left elbow soreness was limited to Wednesday's game and not something that had been bothering him previously.

Fried (4-3, 3.21 this season) had a rough start last Friday night in Milwaukee in which he allowed five runs, six hits and three walks in a 6-0 loss. He was not sharp Wednesday when he allowed three runs, five hits and a walk in three innings.
