The bad news for Knicks fans is that their team lost Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Pacers on Tuesday night and now trails the series, 3-1.
The tiny sliver of good news for those who wish to attend Game 5 on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden is that prices on the secondary market are falling.
That is natural, given that the Knicks could be eliminated or at best simply survive to play another day in Indianapolis on Saturday night.
As of Wednesday morning, TickPick said the least expensive ticket for Game 5 was $394, significantly lower than any other Knicks game over the past two rounds.
Before the series began, the least expensive ticket sold for Game 5 was $802.
On StubHub, tickets were sinking into the lower $400 range Wednesday morning.
Those prices could drop further as tipoff nears just after 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The most expensive ticket listed on StubHub for Game 5 was in section VIP 12, row AA, for $150,376.
Tellingly, what had been a huge gap between prices in New York and Indianapolis has narrowed dramatically given how the series has gone.
The lowest asking price as of Wednesday morning for a potential Pacers clincher in Indy in Game 6 on Saturday was $323.
If the Knicks rally to win Games 5 and 6 and force a deciding game on Monday night, getting into the Garden will be as expensive as ever.
The “get-in,” or lowest, price on StubHub for a potential Game 7 was $1,137.
