PSAL football roundup: Melendez, Gomez lead Curtis over Lincoln

PSAL 4A

Jayden Melendez had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown to lead host Curtis to a 14-6 win over Lincoln in a PSAL 4A opener Friday night. Quadere Gomez had 21 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown. Vincent Canzoneri completed 11 of 22 passes for 137 yards and a score. Ndaime Diouck had two sacks.

Christian Borhi completed 18 of 36 passes for 213 passing yards for Lincoln. Javien Alvarez had three catches for 72 yards.

Brooklyn Tech 38, DeWitt Clinton 26: Cole Scanlon completed 17 of 28 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns to lead visiting Brooklyn Tech. Ezra Josse had eight catches for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Caleb Fisher had five catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Erasmus Hall 35, JFK 0: Tommy Zeh threw two touchdown passes and Ricard Dobbins ran for two TDs to lead host Erasmus Hall. Kendu Brown threw for a TD pass. Victor Ebube-Onukaogu, Justus Murray and Jace Solomon each had a receiving touchdown. Ahkeim Brown had an interception.

SATURDAY’S GAMES

Tottenville 42, South Shore 8: Justin McGuire threw for four touchdowns to lead visiting Tottenville. Nicolas Constantino had two receiving touchdowns. Tyshawn Bent ran for a TD and Kory Brown caught a TD pass.

Wagner 41, Canarsie 0: Toa Spencer passed for 77 yards and a touchdown along with eight carries for 139 yards and a rushing TD to lead visiting Wagner. Kaden Alejandro rushed for 85 yards and two TDs. Justin Phillips added 57 rushing yards and a score. Timmy Ojo had 30 yards and a rushing touchdown. Luke Sinclair had two receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown. Mo Hassan and Elijah Marciano each had two tackles for loss.

PSAL 3A

A. Philip Randolph 48, Lehman 6: Emmanuel Opoku rushed for two touchdowns and threw a TD pass to lead host A. Philip Randolph on Saturday. Lord Winston caught a 60-yard TD pass. Zahaire Jones caught a TD pass and Ahmed Toure added a rushing score.

Stuyvesant 17, Midwood 8: Fynn Chadwick had two passing touchdowns to lead visiting Stuyvesant. Chris Dubovici caught a touchdown pass in the first half. Aiden Chan caught the go-ahead touchdown in the second half.

FRIDAY’S GAME

Frank J. Macchiarola 44, Cardozo 0: Jaycob Reid rushed for two touchdowns to lead host Frank J. Macchiarola. Dalontai Davis returned a kickoff for a TD. Emmanuel Boyce ran for a TD and Kaalon Brizan had a fumble return for a touchdown.

PSAL 2A

Transit Tech 36, Jamaica 0: Daniel Hall ran for a touchdown and caught a TD pass to lead visiting Transit Tech on Saturday. Kyle McKay had two rushing touchdowns and his brother, Terry McKay, added a rushing TD.

Springfield Gardens 14, KIPP 0: Josiah Lawler rushed for a 34-yard touchdown to lead visiting Springfield Gardens. Brian Ali scored a 4-yard rushing touchdown. Berdely Elie had seven tackles, including two for loss.
