The Suffolk Division IV football schedule is now official. The schedules needed to be revamped after the varsity football programs at Southampton/Ross and Greenport/Southold/Mattituck folded for the 2025 season.

Pete Blieberg, the Section XI assistant executive director, in coordination with Tim Horan, the Suffolk County Football Chairman, were tasked with the rescheduling of the remaining 10 teams.

“The original schedule was done in March,” said Tom Combs, the executive director for Section XI, which governs all Suffolk interscholastic sports. “There were a lot of variables in determining how to reschedule the division. The most important item was how to reschedule and coordinate the original Homecoming dates. They figured it out.”

The one inequity that was unavoidable was the amount of home games each team would play. Bayport-Blue Point, Mount Sinai, Hampton Bays, Shoreham-Wading River and Babylon have five home games and Kings Park, Glenn, Port Jefferson, Miller Place and Center Moriches will play four games at home.

“We’re pleased with the schedule and moving on,” Combs said. “When the two schools were forced to pull out of the varsity season, we had no choice but to reschedule. There was no way we were leaving the schedule as it was with two teams forfeiting games all season. The departure of those teams would have left six programs with only six games. This schedule levels the playing field and everyone is getting a minimum of nine games.”

No team has a tougher schedule than Kings Park. The third-seeded Kingsmen open on the road at No. 2 Babylon on Friday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. In Week 3, Kings Park travels to top-seeded Bayport-Blue Point on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.

Other key games: No. 5 Miller Place is at No. 4 Mount Sinai Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. And the following week Mount Sinai goes on the road to Babylon, on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.

Babylon is at top-seeded Bayport-Blue Point, Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.; Bayport-Blue Point travels to Miller Place, Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
