Josh Gamarra scored 42 points and had 15 rebounds to lead Oceanside over Port Washington, 70-66, in Nassau AAA-II boys basketball on Thursday. Louis Saglembeni had 13 points and Jordan Simpson had seven for Oceanside (7-8). Matt Kay scored 21 points and Izaias Clemmons had 19 for Port Washington (11-4).
Island Trees 74, Glen Cove 72: Iben Angud scored 36 points to lead Island Trees (5-10) in Nassau IV. Enzo Ciocarci had nine points and Dylan Hernandez had seven. Mark Reeves had 29 points and Jordan Robinson had 13 for Glen Cove (1-12).
Commack 59, Connetquot 38: Jonny Ehlers scored 16 points and Ryan Curcio scored 10 to lead Commack (10-6) in Suffolk II. Daniel Onuogu chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. Matthew Marzocca led Connetquot (2-15) with 11 points.
WEDNESDAY’S GAME
Wantagh 41, Mineola 39: Carter Loughman scored the game-winner for Wantagh (6-9) with three seconds remaining in Nassau VI. Devin Paccione tied the game with 35 seconds left and drew a charge to get possession for Wantagh. Vinny Napolitano had a team-high 16 points. Christian Frey scored 19 points for Mineola (5-10).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Connetquot 53, Commack 43: Laila Folkes scored seven of her 20 points in overtime to lead Connetquot (8-10) in Suffolk II. Bella Franck had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Gianna Solch had 21 points, including six three-pointers, for Commack (8-8).
Harborfields 56, Hauppauge 55: Maren Korsh scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Harborfields (15-2) in Suffolk IV. Antoinette Henderson scored 14 points. Alexa Fortune had 18 points and Gabby Cane had 11 for Hauppauge (11-4).
WEDNESDAY’S GAME
West Babylon 61, Smithtown East 58: Gia Coladonato picked up a steal and scored with 36 seconds left to extend the lead for West Babylon (10-7) in Suffolk III. Jaelyn Burgess led all scorers with 23 points and Ava Dockery added 21. Carolyn Brennan and Lauren Mahoney each scored 14 points for Smithtown East (8-10).
GIRLS BOWLING
Longwood 25, Comsewogue 15: Kaylee Dwyer rolled a high game of 253 in Game 2 of a 649 series to lead Longwood (12-0) to a Suffolk I title. Avery Frank had a high game of 224 in Game 1 of a 614 series. Lexie Cohen added a 229 in Game 2. Longwood has won 144 consecutive games, including its last 54 league matches.
Sachem 33, Patchogue-Medford 7: Sabrina Quaranta bowled a 254 and Kaylee Tagliamonte rolled a 200 in Game 1 to lead Sachem (8-4) in Suffolk I.
GIRLS WRESTLING
WEDNESDAY’S MATCH
Rocky Point 34, East Islip 28: Isha Boucicaut pinned Olivia Dutes in nine seconds at 165 pounds to clinch the win for Rocky Point (2-3). Angelica Smiech defeated Alicia Cardona by 5-4 decision at 107 pounds and Zoey Hernandez won a 6-2 decision over Sabrina Gabuna at 94 pounds.
GYMNASTICS
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 170.75, Hewlett 144.25: Andi Yu won the all- around with a score of 34.95, including a first-place finish on bars with a 9.1, for Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK. Sofia Rosamilia won vault with an 8.35 and Hewlett’s Alexa Bradford won beam with a 9.0. Plainview’s Addie Simon was first on floor with a 9.2.
WEDNESDAY’S MATCH
Syosset 168.4, Oceanside 161.8: Sophia Bahiri captured first place on vault, balance beam and bars for Syosset. Adriana Auleta recorded her highest floor score of the season with a 9.5. Julia Blette earned a 9.15 on floor.
