With rookies set to report this week for camp, the Rangers announced Monday that they’ve promoted assistant general manager Ryan Martin to associate GM and elevated longtime analytics expert Jim Sullivan to assistant GM.
The Rangers also brought back former player and front office executive Ryane Clowe as an assistant GM and hired former player Blake Wheeler, who played his final NHL season with the Rangers in 2023-24, as a hockey operations adviser.
Martin was one of the first people Chris Drury hired when he took over as Rangers GM in 2021. For the last four seasons, he has served as the GM of the team’s AHL affiliate in Hartford. He’ll continue to be GM of the Wolf Pack.
Sullivan is starting his 17th season in the organization. He spent the last five as vice president of hockey strategy and data management.
Clowe left the Rangers' front office last season to serve a year as assistant GM for San Jose.
