After the NHL announced Monday that the Rangers would kick off the 2025-26 schedule on Oct. 7 at Madison Square Garden against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the league released the rest of its schedule Wednesday.

The Rangers will play their first away game Oct. 9 in Buffalo. Then it's on to Pittsburgh two days later for the front end of a back-to-back, with the Rangers playing at home the following night against the Washington Capitals. The Rangers will play 13 sets of back-to-back games, including a home-and-home against the Islanders.

They play the Islanders four times in total, the first on Nov. 8 at Madison Square Garden and then at UBS Arena on Dec. 27, the first night after the Christmas break. The home-and-home will be played at UBS Jan. 28 and at the Garden Jan. 29.

Chris Kreider, who was traded to the Anaheim Ducks last month, makes his return to the Garden, along with former Rangers captain Jacob Trouba and fellow ex-Rangers Ryan Strome and Frank Vatrano, on Dec. 15.

This season’s Winter Classic, which the Rangers will play in against the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers, is on Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. at loanDepot Park in Miami, home of baseball’s Miami Marlins. That will be the final game of a season-long six-game road trip that starts on Dec. 21 at Nashville and includes the NHL’s three-day Christmas break, Dec. 24-26.

Their longest homestand will be seven games, beginning March 27 against Chicago and ending April 8 against Buffalo. They close the season with a three-game trip to Dallas, Florida and Tampa Bay, with the last game coming April 15 in Tampa.

The NHL will break in February for the Olympics, and the Rangers will be off from Feb. 6 to Feb. 25.
