Former first lady Michelle Obama will be promoting her upcoming book on fashion, "The Look," through a special, six-part companion series to the podcast "IMO" that she hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson. Guests will include Jane Fonda, model-activist Bethann Hardison and designer and former J. Crew executive Jenna Lyons.

Higher Ground, the media company founded by Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama, announced Thursday that "IMO: The Look" will premiere Nov. 5 and run weekly over the following six weeks. Obama's book, a look at her fashion choices during her time in the White House and throughout her public life, is scheduled for Nov. 4. The book contains more than 200 photographs showing Obama's journey that has made her a style icon. Among the voices that also make their way into the book are Obama's longtime stylist Meredith Koop, makeup artist Carl Ray, and hairstylists Yene Damtew, Johnny Wright and Njeri Radway.

"The Look" podcast series will launch with an appearance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where Obama will be joined by entertainer-producer Tracee Ellis Ross. Tickets for the event went on sale Thursday to BAM members and will be available to the general public starting Monday at 1 p.m. For more information, go to bam.org.

On Nov. 12, Obama will do a second live podcast with film critic Wesley Morris from Sixth & I in Washington, D.C.

Obama's previous books include "Becoming," her 2018 memoir that to date has sold more than 17 million copies, and 2022's "The Light We Carry," another bestseller in which she helped readers find solutions for coping with relationships and daily struggles. Her first book, "American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America" (2012), focused on helping Americans eat healthier.

In addition, Netflix presented a 2020 documentary that followed Obama as she embarked on her "Becoming" book tour. Also in 2020, Obama won a Grammy Award for best audiobook, narration and storytelling recording for "Becoming."
