The roster for the 2026 Great South Bay Music Festival, scheduled for July 23-26 at Shorefront Park in Patchogue, is taking shape. After announcing last week Sublime will be playing Day 2 on July 24, organizers revealed that rock band My Morning Jacket will headline the final day on July 26. This marks the band’s GSB festival debut.

“My Morning Jacket is one of the most indefinable bands on the scene. Alt-country, hypnotic, western-emo, psychedelic leaning, ‘genre hopping’ and yes, they are all of the above,” said festival founder-promoter Jim Faith. “We know for certain that they are considered one of the best live bands on the scene today and we are excited to welcome them to Patchogue.”

Formed in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1998, the quintet fronted by singer-guitarist Jim James blends rock, country and psychedelia. The band didn’t fully break through until its fourth studio album, 2005's “Z,” which ranked No. 457 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Their most recent album, “is,” was released in March spawning three singles: "Time Waited," "Squid Ink” and "Half a Lifetime.”
