Train will play Northwell at Jones Beach Theater next summer as part of a North American tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band’s 2001 album, "Drops of Jupiter."

The tour, which includes stops at more than 35 cities, will also feature Barenaked Ladies and folk-rocker Matt Nathanson. General onsale tickets for the July 18 show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.

Formed by singer Pat Monahan in San Francisco in 1993, Train became known for a poppy brand of rock that fit comfortably alongside Counting Crows, Matchbox Twenty, Hootie & the Blowfish and other radio-friendly acts of the decade. The band’s single "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2001 and won two Grammys, including Best Rock Song. Train also scored hits with "Calling All Angels," "Drive By" and "Hey, Soul Sister," which was featured in so many commercials that even Adweek called it "a tad overused."

Train has announced a new member, guitarist Butch Walker, known for his time in the band Marvelous 3 and for his collaborations with Pink, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco and Weezer.
