Huntington Station has welcomed a new home goods store featuring everything one needs to decorate a home, from throw pillows to vases, big and small.

For owner Stephanie Rooney, the store has become a one-stop shop for the dinner party host or someone looking for a gift for a special occasion.

"We’re prepared for the "mini-seasons," Rooney says. "Beyond the end-of-year holiday shopping season, we know when our customer is looking for an impressive hostess gift, a dress that makes them look like they 'didn’t try too hard,' or when they need to spruce up their guest bedroom before entertaining their in-laws."

Terra, which originally opened on Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor in November 2020, closed in December 2024 when Rooney wanted to expand into a larger space.

"We outgrew the footprint of our beloved shop on Main Street," she says. "We wanted to expand and offer more products and larger products to our customer base that just didn’t fit in that location."

The shop relocated to the Huntington Shopping Center in Huntington Station in March.

"Expansion was always a part of our plan," Rooney says. "When we learned about the renovation at the Huntington Shopping Center, we knew it would be the perfect place to meet our customers where they would be shopping for everyday essentials, with an elevated experience."

Loyal clientele from her Cold Spring Harbor store don't have to travel far to shop for the latest "it" home accents because the new location is about a 10-minute drive from the original.

"We still see our Cold Spring Harbor regulars, and we’re meeting new friends every day in Huntington, so we’re excited about the new chapter ahead," she says.

The shop features a collection of engagement gifts, charcuterie boards, and greeting cards by the female-owned company E. Frances. Shoppers can find hand-poured soaps and candles (Farm + Sea). The baby section includes clothes for newborns to 12 months, as well as toys and accessories.

Those looking for a fall fragrance for their home or decor for the holidays will find that the staff at Terra are experts in fashion and design.

"Nearly our entire staff has experience in either home staging for real estate, home organizing, interior design and decorating," she notes.

Prices range from less than $10 for soaps, face masks and lip balms to $3,600 for hutch cabinets.
