A man was arrested and hundreds of grams of drugs were seized by state police troopers on Friday in West Babylon following a monthslong investigation into alleged narcotics sales there.
Police arrested Johnathan Moore, 47, of West Babylon, who is accused of possessing 540 grams of crack cocaine, 188 grams of powder cocaine, 120 grams of heroin and other drugs, according to a state police news release. Police also seized $150,000 in cash, authorities said.
A search warrant executed at a West Babylon residence on Friday led to Moore’s arrest, Public Information Officer Brittany Burton told Newsday. Burton declined to identify the residence and whether it was Moore’s.
Moore was charged with first-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, according to state police.
The arrest was a result of a monthslong investigation started in August by the state police Community Stabilization Unit. The state police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team and Forensic Investigation Unit assisted in the warrant, police said.
