5 hurt, including 4 by stabbing, in fight started in West Islip, ended in Lindenhurst, police say

Three men were arrested Sunday following a fight between two groups of people in Lindenhurst that injured five, including four men who were treated for stab wounds at hospitals, Suffolk County police said.
The fight began at 1683 Sports Bar & Grille on Sunrise Highway in West Islip at about 3 p.m. and continued five miles west at the Phillips 66 gasoline station in Lindenhurst 30 minutes later, where police say approximately 20 people engaged in the “physical altercation.”
Three men, whose names had not yet disclosed Sunday night, were arrested following police arrival and charged by First Squad detectives with second-degree riot, a police spokesperson said in an email. Additional charges may be pending, according to police.
One of the five injured men suffered blunt force wounds, police said. The names of the injured parties were also not released.
Additional information about the incident, including a motive for the fight, was not immediately available.
