BACKGROUND

• Spada, 62, of Halesite, works as a technical director for MSG Networks.
• He is the former director of Huntington's maritime services department and served as assistant chief and chief of the Halesite Fire Department. He now serves the department as a member and EMT.
• Spada served as trustee, deputy mayor and police commissioner in the Village of Huntington Bay.

ISSUES

• Spada opposes large-scale development projects that he says would fundamentally change the character of communities.
• He said he is concerned that the town is not following the legally required State Environmental Quality Review Act when it approves development projects.
• Spada believes the town should be acquiring more open space.
