Man who was riding electric scooter found unconscious in Huntington, police say

Suffolk County police are investigating an incident involving a man found unconscious in the middle of the road in Huntington on Thursday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., officers found a 53-year-old man unconscious on the corner of Bayberry Drive and Juniper Place.
Police said he was previously seen operating an electric scooter, but no witnesses saw if he fell or how he became unconscious.
The man who was not yet identified was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital via police helicopter and is in serious condition, police said.
Detectives are requesting anyone with information on this incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
