A 98-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital after being struck last week by a car as he crossed a street in Roosevelt, the Nassau County Police Department said. Credit: Jonathan Singh

A 98-year-old man who was struck last week by 2005 Chrysler while crossing a street in Roosevelt has died, the Nassau Police Department said.

Nathaniel Adams, of Roosevelt, was walking across Nassau Road near West Fulton Avenue about 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 3 when he was hit by the car, Nassau police said in a news release.

Adams suffered "serious injuries" and was "listed in critical condition" at a hospital until he died, the police said Monday in an updated release.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 25-year-old male, remained at scene, according to the police.

Nassau police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating.
