A Victorian farmhouse in East Moriches is on the market for $1.025 million. The taxes are $12,618.
The house sits on half an acre on Montauk Highway. It was built in 1870, containing five bedrooms and three bathrooms, spanning 2,801 square feet.
"Originally, this home was on a dahlia farm," said Frank Mistretta, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. He is co-listing the property with Kelly DiJorio.
The property is in East Moriches Union Free School District (for elementary and middle school), and then offers the options of Westhampton Beach High School, Center Moriches High School or Eastport-South Manor Junior-Senior High School.

Standout details include an 8-year-old cedar roof, wraparound porch, dual staircases and a wood-burning fireplace. The oil tank and hot water heater were both updated about a year ago, Mistretta said. The exterior was repainted nine months ago, he added.
"The owner is a woodworker, so he did all of the wainscoting throughout the home," Mistretta said.
There are several original features inside, such as the hardwood floors and radiators.
"The house has so much character," Mistretta said. "Some of the bathrooms are original copper from the 1800s."

There is an 800-square-foot cottage on the property, which is framed but not finished inside. A 300-square-foot shed is on site, as well.
"When it comes to older homes, this house is completely well done and really beautiful," Mistretta said.
