High school roundup: Non-league football games and volleyball playoffs

Tim Stanley passed for 151 yards with one touchdown to lead host Division over North Shore, 17-14, in a non-league football game on Thursday. Stanley added 51 receiving yards and Joseph Angelletta and Fateh Hira each scored a TD for Division (5-4). John Gluszcyzyn went 2-for-2 in extra points and kicked a 37-yard field goal. Jason Perez had 103 and Michael DeDentro had 71 all-purpose yards. North Shore finished 2-7.
Glen Cove 37, Hicksville 8: Freshman quarterback Antonio Longobucco led Glen Cove (2-7) to its second win of the season in non-league. The score was tied at 8 at halftime before Glen Cove burst for 29 unanswered points. Anthony Fernandez had a 16-yard fumble return for a touchdown, and Dalon Tate ran for two TDs. Hicksville (1-8) was led by Jack Ferraro, who recorded 125 passing yards and a touchdown.
Manhasset 39, Oyster Bay 14: Luke DePietro rushed for 201 yards on six carries with two touchdowns to lead Manhasset (4-5) in non-league. Henry Jervis had 132 yards on eight carries and two TDs. Oyster Bay finished 3-6.
Roosevelt 14, Herricks/Wheatley 7: Kelvin Abreu completed 7 of 13 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown and Tyreik McClenic had 18 carries for 106 yards and a TD to lead host Roosevelt (4-5) in non-league. Tyrese Williams caught a 43-yard TD pass and Elyjah McRae caught three passes for 83 yards. Yianni Doulis threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Logan Aulicino for Herricks/Wheatley (2-7).
Valley Stream North 42, Jericho 13: Tyler Malyah completed four passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns to lead Valley Stream North (5-4) in a non-league matchup. Dom Verso and Adebayo Kayode each added rushing TDs and Verso had three tackles for loss six total tackles. Aidan Munro had six tackles, one for a loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Brody Morgan had two rushing TDs for Jericho (4-5).
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Lawrence 3, Great Neck North 0: Mailo Rozas Catalan had four kills, 30 assists, and two digs in No. 2 Lawrence’s 25-18, 25-19, 25-23 win over No. 7 Great Neck North in the quarterfinals of the Nassau Division II playoffs on Friday. Lawrence (18-3) will face No. 3 New Hyde Park in the semifinals at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Nassau CCC. Great Neck North finished 11-11.
