Otoniel Umana secured his hat trick in dramatic fashion Wednesday, scoring the game-winner in the 73rd minute for Whitman boys soccer in its 3-2 win over Sachem East in Suffolk I. Jayden Castro made eight saves for Whitman (6-2-1) and Connor Umstead earned an assist.
Jaxson Weber scored a penalty kick in the 70th minute to tie the game for Sachem East (8-4) prior to Umana’s go-ahead score. Weber also assisted teammate Cannen Pappaeliou’s goal.
West Hempstead 3, Evergreen Charter 0: Josiah Verdi scored two goals and Branyher Martinez added a goal to lead West Hempstead (3-5-1) in Nassau AB-III. Bryan Guzman made four saves, including a save on a penalty kick, to secure the team’s fourth shutout of the season.

Chaminade 6, St. John the Baptist 0: Massimo Fargnoli had a goal and two assists for Chaminade (8-1-1) in its NSCHSAA win. Hudson Keefer and Sam Dwyer had a goal and an assist apiece. Riley Batz made 16 saves for St. John the Baptist (1-4).

Shoreham-Wading River 9, Port Jefferson 0: Alex Clareen shot a 2-under 34 at The Rock GC to lead Shoreham-Wading River (5-1) to a Suffolk VI victory. Conor Dietz (36), Brody Constantine (37) and Colten Sisler (38) all shot under 40 for the Wildcats. The team posted a season-best score of 189.
Bayport-Blue Point 9, West Islip 0: Kaiden Capurso led Bayport-Blue Point (9-1-1), shooting 3-under par, and Bailey Gelling shot 1-under par 35 at West Sayville GC in Suffolk V.
Riverhead 9, Greenport/Southold 0: Kolby Baran shot a 1-under par at Cherry Creek Golf Links to lead Riverhead (7-0) in Suffolk VII. According to coach Steve Faila, Riverhead clinched its sixth consecutive league title.
