Whitman boys soccer's Lucas Flores nets OT goal, secures win over Patchogue-Medford
Lucas Flores scored off a corner served by Ben Renick two minutes into the first overtime, leading Whitman over Patchogue-Medford, 1-0, in Suffolk I boys soccer on Thursday. Jayden Castro made nine saves for Whitman (4-1-1). Andy Hernandez had six saves for Patchogue-Medford (4-3).
GIRLS SOCCER
Half Hollow Hills West 1, Bellport 0: Ella Candel scored the game-winning goal off a long assist from Victoria Valdes with just over eight minutes left to lead Half Hollow Hills West (3-1) in Suffolk II. Zoe Franks saved the only shot she faced to hold the clean sheet. For Bellport (3-3), Julianna Caffrey saved 14 of the 15 shots she faced.
FIELD HOCKEY
Miller Place 2, Smithtown West 0: Giulia Francese and Megan Rado each scored to lead Miller Place (4-3) in Suffolk II. Vienna Dabbraccio and Zoe Weisman each added an assist. Olivia Cerna had 19 saves for Smithtown West.
Bayport-Blue Point 4, Southampton 0: Lily LiPuma had two goals and Payton Weybrecht and Lexie Kennedy also scored to lead Bayport-Blue Point (7-0) in Suffolk II. Neveahya Bell made 10 saves for Southampton (1-4).
