High school sports roundup: Weekend football and soccer scores

Patrick Coan completed 7-of-11 passes for 99 yards and two touchdown passes to lead Sayville over Islip, 56-35 in Suffolk III football on Saturday night. Coan also rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore Timmy Holahan rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Ben Kloska blocked a punt and Ryan Linker returned it for a 25-yard touchdown for Sayville (2-0). Jack Rao threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns for Islip (1-1).
Smithtown West 28, Hauppauge 7: Michael Cascione returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown and caught a pass for a 28-yard score to help lead Smithtown West (2-0) in Suffolk III. Nick DeVito threw two touchdown passes in the win, the first of which went to Vin Lepore. Thomas Maloney made all four of his extra points and Jake Rearick capped off the win with a rushing touchdown of his own. For Hauppauge (1-1), Giuseppe Calabrese caught a touchdown from Nick LaChapelle.
BOYS SOCCER
St. Anthony’s 3, Don Bosco 2: James Kelly had two assists and Shane Rossiter scored three goals while Cole Lawrence had five saves to lead St. Anthony’s (6-0) in the CHSAA on Saturday.
Syosset 2, Oceanside 0: Xavi Navarro had one goal and one assist to lead Syosset (5-2) in Nassau AAA. Benny Meyerowitz scored a goal.
Amityville 3, Kellenberg 3: Meny Claros, Thiago Moreno and Aiden Johnson all scored for Amityville (3-3-2) in a non-league draw. Luca Coschignano, Micah Joseph and Joseph Montenegro each scored for Kellenberg (7-2-1).
GIRLS SOCCER
Sachem East 1, Patchogue-Medford 0: Aubrey Canale finished a cross from Braelin Fernandes two minutes into overtime for the winning goal for Sachem East (4-1) in Suffolk I. Sophia Carpenito recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
