When the tree branches are bare, the only visible signs of neighbors to a 6-acre Muttontown property are a barn and two horses, listing agent Kimberly Bancroft said.
"You don't see anybody," said Bancroft, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. "It's really very private and tranquil."
The Pinebourne Lane parcel, its five-bed, 7½-bath main house and detached one-bedroom cottage are listed for nearly $4.8 million. Taxes on the property total $73,658.
The homeowners can choose between Oyster Bay-East Norwich Public School and the Syosset Central School Districts, according to the listing.

Bancroft described a main house with an abundance of French doors and natural light. There are four bedrooms on the second floor, including a primary bedroom with vaulted ceilings and two bathrooms of its own, she said. The lower level, which is a walkout basement, includes the fifth bedroom, two bathrooms, a sitting room, a recreation area and storage space.
"There's beautiful millwork throughout the house, a lot of attention to detail," Bancroft said.
Recent renovations include a dry bar with hunter-green cabinetry and a foxed mirror wall, as well as the kitchen, the listing agent said.
A dry bar with hunter-green cabinetry and a foxed mirror wall was the product of a recent renovation project, Bancroft said. The homeowners also updated the kitchen and bathrooms, and worked with "a really high-end decorator" to add patterned wallpaper and carpeting throughout the home, she said.
"They honestly weren't planning on moving," said Bancroft, who added the renovation was done several months ago.

As it stands, the house has two dishwashers, two fireplaces and two staircases, Bancroft said.

The grounds include the cottage, an in-ground, heated gunite pool and a gazebo.
"For multi-generational living, which we're seeing a lot of these days on Long Island, you do have a whole separate cottage," Bancroft said.
