A Queen Anne Victorian in Sea Cliff is on the market for $925,000. The taxes are $12,971.
Known as the Stephen Harding House, it contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In 1878, Harding built the home as a cottage in the Queen Anne Victorian style, paying homage with details such as the veranda and scalloped fish scale shingles. Harding was a photographer and documented life in Sea Cliff's Methodist Camp Meeting Era.
In Sea Cliff, "it's one of the last surviving examples of a Queen Anne Victorian cottage," said listing agent Christina Volz, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Laffey International Realty.

The house, on 14th Avenue, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. According to its records, it is "one of 14 known houses in Sea Cliff that date from the Methodist Camp Meeting Era." This refers to the period (between 1871 and 1884) when Sea Cliff was a Methodist church campground, before being incorporated as a village.

"The current owner, about five years ago, did a complete interior renovation," Volz said. "Even though you have this beautiful historic exterior, it's all modern and new inside."

Totaling 1,214 square feet, notable features include hardwood flooring, a finished basement and a built-in banquette in the kitchen. The property is in the North Shore School District.
There are sunset views from the second floor, Volz said, and the house is across the street from a small park.
"It has these expansive green views when you look outside," the agent said. "Nothing can ever be built across from the house, so it's really special that you're perched on the park."
