Teak paneling creeps up the walls and covers the ceiling of a West Hills living room with a pebble fireplace.

Offset by one cream-colored wall, the ceiling has impressed prospective buyers, said listing agent Kimberly Goldstein, of The Agency. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home on a drive off of Round Swamp Road, is on the market for nearly $1.5 million.

"It's absolutely magnificent," Goldstein said of the house. "I grew up around the block; It's Round Swamp Road, it's manicured and stunning."

Taxes on the 1-acre West Mall Drive property, which falls within the South Huntington Union Free School District, total $22,397.

A stretch of tall windows in the teak room, which also has wood flooring, offer a view of the backyard. Goldstein described a property with specimen trees — blue spruce and cherry — and a gunite pool.

"It's got a modern hint with some farm feel," Goldstein said.

The house is move-in ready, Goldstein said, and has windows and a generator installed last year. Following a Saturday open house, Goldstein said she would be "shocked" if it were still available the following day.

"Round Swamp Road kind of speaks for itself," said Goldstein, who said she often sells homes in the area. "The houses here usually don't last."

The home has a two-car garage, three-zone heating and central air conditioning systems and an eight-zone in-ground sprinkler system, according to the listing.

From the living room, a door leads to a covered patio. Yellow exterior shingles and a red door accent a white-paneled ceiling with two fans.

"It's just tastefully done," Goldstein said of the house as a whole. "A lot of love and care."
